Mud Glorious Mud

The pre Commando Challenge “dry run” rehearsal on Sunday actually proved to be muddy, wet and VERY, VERY squelchy but such amazingly good fun that many of the Brilliant Team now CANNOT wait for the real Commando Challenge in October. (Me included!!)
*Even if what we did on Sunday was only a third of the distance of the Commando Challenge Race.

There are actually SO MANY AMAZINGLY hilarious photos of the day to choose from {Sam "The SUPERcamera Man" and SuperGaby took over 200 brilliant snaps between them. WOWzers. This was no mean feat considering that we were "AWOL of our senses" most of the time and completely struggling to stay on our feet, never mind failing to avoid going crashing headlong into these loveliest of innocent bystanders.} As you can imagine, even just selecting a few highlights was near impossible. I have seriously not laughed so much is AGES – even if it is just from sheer personal mortification!!! Well done Sam and Gaby for these amazing mementos of this momentously muddy occasion – hopefully the first of many SuperChicks and SuperDudes collaborations??

So here’s just a few highlights of the too, too, too many outrageously fab moments that I wanted to share with you:

When a certain organiser turned up inexcusably late due to *traffic* issues – the team decided that a sit in protest was the best way forward – on a tank!

Getting warmed up – Tug of War anyone?
p.s. Don’t mess with the KitCat - she means business!!

The Blues forging ahead but for how long?

AJ demonstrating the classic leg over manoeveour!

Jade gets a helping hand - it's not called an "ASSault" course for nothing!

The squeals were a great indication of the depth of the water ahead...

Too bad I didn't pay ANY attention - and so ended up doing my best "Private Benjamin" Goldie Hawn impression, i.e. hyperventilating after nearly drowning in lovely balmy water!!

Some classic SUPERteamwork

Jade aka "Tarzan" monkeying around

Lucinda and Mr KitCat indulge in a little tete a tete atop the wall

Everyone's working hard to negotiate the tyre wall and I'm.....
I'm keeping watch for mud dwelling killer piranhas. Obviously!!

Netting it

AJ traversing a two foot drop -  totally in the zone.

Back into the piranha infested river we go!

Magnificent Megan decided to go awallowing in the mud

Progress became slow and very sticky

"Girl on a Mission" is delirious at the thought of getting out of the water

Only to discover we have to hurdle into some *toxic* green, very stinky gunk. Oh Joy!

All that's left is a gentle jog and the mother of all haybales to negotiate

The "bend and snap" has been substituted for the "slip and slide"

None of this would have been nearly so manageable without the SUPERheroic boys giving us a hand - FREQUENTLY. WOWzers. Thanks SUPERdudes -
Do any of you fancy dressing as a dudette and giving us a hand on the 10th Oct??

The Red Team cruised in at a very cool 35 mins - wahoo!!

The Blues brought up the rear a mere 40 seconds later
- so much fun squeezed into just 36 minutes
 UN*FREAKING*BELIEVABLE!!

After all the difficulties we had getting there - we decided to hitch a lift home in the SUPERchick mud mobile but not before freshening up....

Back in civvies no one would guess we're just a LITTLE insane!!
Boorah - YOU GUYS ARE A.W.E.S.O.M.E
Love you all xxx

p.s. I no longer have the function of my arms - diver crunches are impossible and I do now look as if I was assaulted this weekend - I'm TOTALLY bruised BUT it was sooooooooooooo worth it.
