MAC - The Faeire Glen

Hello guys,
So I wanted to do some reviews and swatches of some of the products from this haul here. Today I thought I'd do one of my favourite lipsticks I featured in that haul which has now become one of my favourites of all time! I feel like maybe this post is a little bit pointless because the lipstick is from the MAC collection A Tartan Tale, but I think you can still get most of the items. This is actually my first collection item and it's the lipstick 'The Faeire Glen'.

This lipstick is described as 'a pale neutral pink' on the website, and is a Lustre finish. I love Lustre finishes, other than Cremesheen they are my favourite. You don't need a gloss over the top if you don't want because they give such a pretty sheen to the lips. They're so soft and glide onto the lips, which means they're nourishing too. The only downside is Lustre's don't often have a great amount of colour payoff, but the colour is always buildable. So here are the swatches...

It's a really great nude for me... doesn't wash me out too much, not too orange and not too pink. Literally love this lipstick! I've heard that's it's similar to Hue lipstick, so when this runs out I'ma have to get myself that bad boy!

Did any of you guys order from the A Tartan Tale collection? What was your favourite item? I really wished I'd order the lipstick 'Cut A Caper' too, if it's still on the website I might just have to click the buy button! Oh MAC, how you rinse my bank account!

DHL... are the devil.

Hello followers :)
I ordered from MAC a couple days ago, and I checked my package's status online and it said it was on it's way so I was excited to get my mitts on it. Of course, I stayed in to wait for my already much loved black box. Well, then I found a 'sorry you were out' card. Erm? No I wasn't!!! Another case of the driver not even bothering to knock on the door :O So after waiting a bit longer I finally got my MAC package and I was a happy bunny again :D

I'm almost 100% sure you will have seen all of these products before, but I thought I'd show you anyway. I'm always interested to see what people pick out, even if I've seen them before. So hopefully someone else is too, lol. If you want any further swatches/reviews with any of these items let me know in the comments and I'll get that sorted :) So here we go...

(please excuse my fingerprints!)
Studio Finish Concealer: £12.50
You probably (or maybe didn't) saw my post a week or so ago, asking what shade you were compared with your Revlon Colorstay. I was going to go and check - but I can't stand the staff in my local MAC!! So I did more research and took the plunge. And suprisingly - it's a perfect match! So excited to try this out, as the only concealer I've ever used is Rimmel Hide The Blemish!!

Fix+ : £11.00
I've been wanting this for a while, and it even appeared in my latest 'wishlist' post. So I'm happily to finally have it :) I've have quite high hopes for this, so I hope it won't let me down! What are your thoughts on Fix+?

Angel Frost Lipstick: £12.50
A favourite among beauty bloggers, youtube guru's and apparently Kim Kardashian! Jelousy completley takes over me when I see this on blogs or videos, so I thought it was about time I got it myself. It was worth the wait, a beautiful pink :)

Pink Swoon Sheertone Blush: £16.50
It looks pretty scary in the pan, but I think we all know this is a gorgeous light pink. It also seems quite bright in the swatch, but once it's blended it leaves a beautiful glow. I was going to order Well Dressed instead as it's a Satin and I only own Sheertones and Sheertone Shimmers. But I don't know? The name swayed me in all honesty, lol!

I'd call this a very successful order from MAC. I wish it was more of an often occurance, but it's just so pricey :( I don't regret ordering at all though, because MAC has not dissapointed me yet (touch wood). Make up purchases are gonna have to fall by the wayside for a bit now.

Tiny haul

I'm trying to cut down on spending this year... because next year will be quite a money-grabber for me! But once I have a certain ammount saved, I'll treat myself to some beauty products. So hauls might be a bit scarce from now on :)

I just popped to town on monday and picked up some essentials as well as some goodies for myself. So here it comes...

Started off in Superdrug...
Aussie leave-in conditioner - reduced to £2
Was excited to use this until I got home to find the spray top had broken :( and now it just comes out in dribbles. But hey, still useable. Has anyone got any tips/tricks on how to revive a spray top?
Carmex cherry - £2.49
I was running out of carmex and that's not good news. I picked up cherry for a change... it smells just like cherry bakewells. But to be honest, it can get quite sickly and I would probably go back to original.

St Ives apricot scrub - £4.29
I've been without my beloved St Ives for about a week as I finished it off, so I had to get another. They've changed the bottle since I had mine... It still has the same ammount of product though, as far as I'm aware. If you haven't tried this, then you definitley should... I live by it.
Neutrogena - Visibly clear 2-in-1 wash & mask
I've seen amazing reviews from youtube guru's and bloggers and it's about time I gave it a try. I've used this since monday in the morning in replace of cleanser and toner because my skin care was suffering because I just couldn't be bothered with both cleanser and toner in the morning. And really, how much bacteria can get on your face whilst you sleep?! So yeah, I'll let you know how this works for me.

It was time for some more MAC...
Sheertone blush in Breath of Plum - £16.50
The website describes this is as 'lightly flavoured plum'. It does look a bit scary in the pan but if you're light handed it gives a really pretty light plum colour. I'm liking this for winter!

Cremesheen lipstick in Shy Girl - £12.50
The website describes this as 'creamy neutral beige' which is pretty spot on. It's not quite a nude because of the coral. It's a really nice shade, I wasn't sure when I looked in the tube. But I like it a lot. I would've done swatches for both of these... but because of the crappy weather and the crappy lighting in my house it wouldn't have shown them true to colour.

And...
I've been looking for drawers for ages, and I saw these! So okay, I didn't get these in town. My dad has an office equipment catalogue and these were in there. 5 drawers, about 4 1/2 cms and are made to fit A4 paper... so they're pretty long! Which is great. I think these were £20-£30 from a place called euroffice. They're not the prettiest of drawers, but I think they're quite sleek :)

Two bits from MAC

I got these two about a week and a half ago... I just forgot to post! For some reason, I've been buying blushers and lipsticks from MAC mainly, and nothing else. Hm, weird lol. Well anyway here they are...

This is a sheertone shimmer blush in Springsheen.
It's a pretty peachy/pink colour with gold pearl, I've been wearing it a lot lately.

This is a lsutre lipstick in Plink! (lustres and creamsheens are my faves)
I've been waiting to get my hands on this for ages and it didn't dissapoint.

Here come the swatches...

TOP: Springsheen blush
BOTTOM: Plink! lipstick

I had to throw this picture in too because it made me laugh. She's a typical nosey cat is Peanut. 'Curiosity killed the cat' afterall ;)

LBP!

Haha so this is a play on 'LBD' (little black dress)... LBP = little black package. I'd just got in from college yesterday when a wonderful man bearing goodies turned up at the door, and yes it was a LBP. We all know what comes in black packages! MAC!! I only got a couple things as it's coming up to Christmas and there are still presents to get. But hey, I thought I needed a little pressie too!

Never has a box filled me with so much happiness! :D

I repurchased Peachykeen powder blush. I love this colour (hence my display name)! Although this colour does work better with a tan as it's quite pink, I just like to have it around like an old friend, lol! It was my first ever MAC purchase and that's something special ;) There are golden shimmers, that aren't overdone like some others, which are beautiful. (Oh and that's my cats paw you can seen, she wanted to say hello!)

This picture doesn't really represent the true colour... it's like a playboy pink. Gorgeous! It's a cremesheen in Creme Cup. Super cute name, right? I love cremesheens, i find they glide on so nicely and stay put for ages! Lipstick has become a big love recently... my boyf isn't too impressed! Lol, they just don't understand.

These are the swatches. On the left is Peachykeen blush and on the right, Creme Cup lipstick.
