The Power of Positive Thinking

This week’s workouts could be interpreted like so:

Monday: Ladder workout. Crap. Omitted a couple of rungs and was still last by eons. How?!
Tuesday: Run. Walk. Walk some more to facilitate breathing. 8km in an hour: Kill me now. 'Wall balls' it turns out is actually a euphemism for 'satanic torture', so much so I officially quit at round three of four.
Wednesday: Can’t even remember the awfulness – though it’s surely a given, I was characteristically crap and last. Wait it’s coming back – it involved rowing and inverted pull ups.  Yup I was last.
Thursday: Longest run of my life – not distance wise. Time just stood still for 60 minutes. Half-marathon is going to be mortifying – who was I kidding? Certainly not this dude:

This was RunKeeper's assessment of my 8.5km 'run'

Last again at Leanfit. Being repetitively rubbish at everything is starting to get boring, not to mention mortifying.
Friday: *Overslept* no point working out aka spying on summer crush. Apparently he is married.  Zzzzzzzzz. Literally.

OR it could be interpreted like so:

Monday:  Bring out the guns – its pull up time. Doing pull ups one at a time great opportunity to improve my technique.
Tuesday: B+ for effort, especially for running all the way to the bridge (the 8km turnaround point) despite my unofficial pacers turning back 0.5km before that.  Wall balls are admittedly tricky but knowing my own limitations and respecting that = not necessarily a bad thing.
Wednesday: Still can’t really remember what happened – but I worked out and I believe I was only three minutes behind everyone else in the end. That's progress. Plus there’s nothing like persistence. Total champ.
Thursday: Tough 8.5km run but I kept up sufficiently to discover the official route of the last 2km. A first!! Plus fellow runners are starting to cheer my name when they overtake me – bonus. Leanfit – round 1, I was third home before dropping to my characteristic last place for rounds 2-4. But I made it all the way to the end of the routine even despite running 8km just a two hours prior. No-one else did that. Hardcore!
Friday: A well deserved rest and good job too as I was fresh and feeling strong for an impromptu ‘rearranging furniture from one end of my friend’s mansion to the other’ session in the afternoon.

Perspective is EVERYTHING. Here's hoping my rose-tinted glasses turn up before half marathon game day! ;-) xx
