The comedy series marks the actress' return to television, two years after her old show "Samantha Who?" was canceled.The pilot also stars "Arrested Development"'s Will Arnett as Applegate's husband and "Bridesmaids" actress Maya Rudolph as her boss and best friend.In the new single-camera show, Applegate, 39, portrays an acerbic working mother, while Arnett plays her overwhelmed, but supportive stay-at-home husband.
The project was spearheaded by "Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels and writer Emily Spivey. Applegate is also one of the producers, her spokesperson had told OnTheRedCarpet.com.In real life, Christina gave birth to her first daughter, Sadie, with musician Martyn LeNoble in January, Arnett and his wife, Amy Poehler welcomed their second child in August 2010, and Rudolph welcomed her third child in July. "[My life,] would probably pretty much be the same because I'm very strong in the way I raise my kids and stuff, so it would probably be pretty much the same, but career-wise I'd probably be a teacher. The mother of two said while touring she sticks to a strict routine.
"On tour, I usually get up in the morning and I work out, and I spend time with my kids, and then it'll be time to go to the venue, and I have catering, eat dinner then get ready for the show," she explained.
And despite singing about being at the club, Brit said she won't usually be found in them - expect the one in her own house. "I never go to the club, but I think it's fun to sing about it. And I have my own mini club at my house," she revealed. "And I play a lot of music there... it has a glitterball and we have catering and lights. It's the whole setup."

Megan told Italian fashion magazine Amica: "I'm removing it. She was a negative person, she was disturbed, bipolar. I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life." The Transformers star - who has over nine tattoos including a quote in honour of her Passion Play co-star Mickey Rourke on her ribcage, a quote on her shoulder and a tribal symbol on her left wrist - is even considering more tattoo removal. Teen diva Selena Gomez is going to work the “black carpet” at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards from a different angle: as a celebrity host.
MTV issued a press release Friday announcing that Gomez will “be reporting breaking news and interviewing her peers alongside MTV News correspondents Sway, Jim Cantiello and James Montgomery.” (In case you’re wondering, there is always a ton of breaking news on the black carpet at the VMAs.)

Stoker, a Park Chan-Wook directed film slated for release sometime in 2012, tells the story of an eccentric teen, India, whose enigmatic and estranged uncle returns to the family following the death of the girl’s father.
When people mysteriously start to go missing in her hometown at the same time, India begins to believe that her uncle may be the cause.
According to Indiewire, Kidman is set to play the role of the little girl’s mother and will be joined by a heavy hitting array of talent including Matthew Goode, Jacki Weaver, Lucas Till, and Mia Wasikowska.
While very few details are known about the film, we can expect that Chan-Wook – whose other films such as Oldboy and Thirst are famous for their immaculate framing, brutal subject matter, and epic twists – has more than a few surprises up his sleeve.
