Obviously, if you haven't seen Captain America: The First Avenger, you should probably wait on watching this video, as it does contain the very ending of that movie. Also, the teaser for The Avengers you'll see in this online version is actually a teaser of the teaser that was shown in theaters and shows quick glimpses of the film, mostly focused on the Thor character (played by Chris Hemsworth) [...]

Metallica Announces Special $6 Shows To Celebrate 30th Anniversary

Legendary metal band Metallica is turning 30 years old (ugh, I know the feeling), and to celebrate the landmark, the band has announced four very special shows.

The shows will take place at The Fillmore in San Francisco on December 5, 7, 9, and 10, and are only open to fan–club members. This is bad news for fans worldwide who would spend hundreds of dollars to see the band any and everywhere, but good news for fan–club members who can get to San Francisco.

And speaking of spending hundreds of dollars—you won't have to. The shows are specially priced at only $6 per ticket, or $19.81 for a four–pack of tickets to each show. The performances won't be generic, either; the band promises plenty of fun and surprises to those who come out. It will without doubt be a very good week for a lucky few Metallica fans come December.

Interview: Judas Priest Guitarist Richie Faulkner

Followers of the metal were shocked when earlier this year Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing announced he was leaving the band after 40 years. His replacement is young Londoner Richie Faulkner -- a man who knows how to set his fretboard alight and melt your face, while remaining cool as ice onstage.

The ex-Ace Mafia and Lauren Harris man took some time out during Priest's current Epitaph World Tour to discuss his "dream" new life and being a sci-fi geek.

Geeks of Doom: Were you welcomed into the band?

Richie Faulkner: Absolutely. They've been nothing short of welcoming on every front really, on a personal level and a musical level as well. We arranged some of the songs live to put some extra guitar solos in there to showcase what I can do and you can't get more welcome than that. You know, changing arrangements for classic songs like that just to accommodate what you can do I think that's a great honour to be granted that opportunity.

Geeks of Doom: That twin guitar sound of KK Downing and Glenn Tipton was integral to Judas Priest and to metal music.

Richie Faulkner: Absolutely.

Geeks of Doom: Did you feel any pressure to be replacing a part of that? [...]

Watch Now: The Deleted Opening Sequence From ‘Superman Returns’

A few years ago I read an interview with filmmaker Terry Gilliam where he was talking about a sequence he had to cut from his 2005 movie The Brothers Grimm that was so costly to shoot and with the amount of money that had to be spent on CGI the scene would be, in Gilliam's words, "the most expensive deleted scene ever made." It's true that many films have to go through extensive reshooting and reediting before they're released to theaters, often the result of unenthusiastic audience responses at test screenings or the will of studio executives far from happy with the final product. But in the case of Superman Returns -- Bryan Singer's much hyped and ultimately disappointing 2006 attempt to relaunch the film franchise starring the iconic DC Comics superhero that first began with 1978's classic Superman: The Movie -- the decision to remove a costly scene integral to the narrative was the decision of the director alone. The long talked about "Return to Krypton" scene is now available for viewing online after recently being released as an extra in the Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology Blu-ray box set [you can read review of the set here].

At San Diego Comic-Con 2011 last week the filmmaker debuted a bevy of original Frank Frazetta paintings to celebrate the upcoming launch of a new museum curated by Rodriguez featuring the master of fantasy art's works from Rodriguez's personal collection. Brand New ‘Tales From The Crypt’ Being Developed For Return To TV

Back in 1989, a series called Tales from the Crypt debuted on HBO and would continue to run until 1996. The series was based on the 1950s EC Comics title of the same name, which also spawned a 1972 anthology movie, three feature films in Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood, and a third much less–know title, Ritual, as well as the still–strange–to–think–about Saturday morning cartoon, Tales from the Cryptkeeper, and a kid's game show called Secrets of the Cryptkeeper's Haunted House. The Cryptkeeper (voiced by John Kassir) himself was a pop culture horror icon, known for his unsettling appearance and oddly appealing cheesy sense of humor. Even I as a child had a Cryptkeeper mask for Halloween!

Now comes word of a proposed revival of the series now being planned. Gil Adler, a producer on the original HBO series, along with Andrew Cosby, a co–creator of Syfy's Eureka and co–founder of BOOM! Studios, have teamed up to develop the new Tales from the Crypt, and they will pitch the project to networks soon. [...]
