Time to SUPERsize my training

I LOVE this card SOOOOOOO much
Equals parts inspiration and giggles
Thanks Sarah xx

Today was my last day in Nashville and as the temperature was in the 80s { balmy ;-)) } to celebrate, I went for one final run along my now familiar 2km Green Hills route.

Just one major flaw - I forgot my music on my run which I only realised once I'd made it to the top of the hill and there was no way I was going back for le shuffle only to shuffle up the hill AGAIN so I persevered on. Just.

It's true what they say that working out to music minimises the perception of effort. Today's run felt like hard work. Totally ridiculous since it was only 2km. I was hoping that my very gentle reintroduction to running would demonstrate some progression even if it is really, really minor.

3rd and 4th Nashville Runs:

Not sure there's anything to say except I did indeed go for four very gentle runs this past week. What is clear is that I have to get serious about the run training if I am truly serious about my half marathon goal this summer. I need to learn to push myself way past the 2km mark even if I am running solo or in a strange neighbourhood. I also have to find a more structured training plan to follow and mix the distances, speeds etc up stat. This also means getting back to more strength orientated work outs - I miss press ups and my legs are feeling the lack of squats and lunges.  Trying out the highly recommended although slightly hardcore phenomenon that is 'Crossfit' is becoming an all too real possibility.

In the interim I wonder where I can get a AJ replica hologram running buddy OR a weightlifting hamster wearing sparkly pink spandex?! ;-)) xx
