Batman Battles Bane In ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Set Images; New Videos Confirm Arkham Breakout? Posted: 01 Aug 2011 10:00 PM PDT Plenty of images from the set of Christopher Nolan's trilogy–maker, The Dark Knight Rises, have found their way online as the movie films in Pittsburgh, including some recent shots of Tom Hardy as the feared Bane. Now comes some more shots of filming, this time of some pretty intense battle sequences, as well as our first peek at Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate (or Talia Al Ghul, as many assume is who's she's really playing). The most notable of which is of course the Dark Knight going head–to–head with the aforementioned Bane. But it doesn't just end with these pictures; some videos from the shoot show that not only are Batman and Bane throwing down, but that there's a full–on riot going on in the middle of a blizzard. Does this anarchy confirm what fans have been assuming (based on the viral marketing campaign): that the movie involves a catastrophic Arkham Asylum breakout? Continue on below to see the images and the videos of this insane shoot, and share your thoughts in the comments below! [...] |
Marvel Still Developing ‘Doctor Strange’ Movie; Script Is In, Directors Being Looked At Posted: 01 Aug 2011 07:15 PM PDT After The Avengers finally arrives next summer, many have wondered where Marvel Studios would go from there. Would they move right into sequels to their Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America titles, or would they bring a new superhero to life on the big screen? What exactly Marvel ultimately decides to do is still unknown, but one possibility remains to be Doctor Strange, who's been talked about as a potential movie for some time now. According to Twitch, a script that was being worked on by Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer (Sahara, Conan the Barbarian [2011]) has been completed and turned in. Also, it's being said that Marvel is now looking for possible directors, and has forwarded candidates said script in hopes of finding someone soon to bring in to "oversee continued development" on the project. Whether the script that Oppenheimer and Donnelly turned in is the one that Marvel will actually use or not remains to be seen, but progress on the film is being made. [...] |
Starz Releases Much Better Teaser Trailer For Season 2 Of ‘Spartacus’ Posted: 01 Aug 2011 05:57 PM PDT Recently Starz released the first trailer for season two of their hit show, Spartacus, this time around being called Spartacus: Vengeance. Unfortunately for us, it was of the ultra–teaser variety, and very little was actually shown. It was, however, promised that a longer trailer would arrive soon, and Starz has made good on that promise. The trailer is still of the teaser variety—clocking in at only a minute and thirty–nine seconds—but this time around questions are answered. Almost everything we've been wondering about who would return, what the second season will be about, and who exactly is out for vengeance is touched on, and couple of very interesting people are involved. You can see the teaser trailer for Spartacus: Vengeance by clicking on over to the other side now! Be warned: the trailer is along the same lines as a red band trailer, contains some pretty graphic imagery, and should be considered NSFW. [...] |

TV Review: Breaking Bad: Box Cutter Posted: 01 Aug 2011 08:00 AM PDT Breaking Bad Season 4, Episode 1 - Box Cutter Directed by: Adam Bernstein Written by: Vince Gilligan Starring: Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Aaron Paul, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks, David Costabile and Jeremiah Bitsui Air date: July 17, 2011 Arguably the best show on television, AMC's Breaking Bad recently returned for its Season 4 premiere and kicked things off with a bang. We've got your spoiler-free review here of the season opener after the break. Well? Get back to work. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you start a season. I'm always interested to see how Breaking Bad will reinvent itself as it returns each season, but this season looks to be the most interesting experiment yet. Picking up mere seconds after last year's finale, we find out the cruel fate of Gale (David Costabile), just minutes after finding out what really did him in. However, Gale was marked for death the second Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) discovered there was a superior product on the market. The best Gale could produce was a 96% pure sample, compared to Walter's purity of 99%. Whatever the future held for Gale before his death didn't matter, it seems it would have been short regardless [...] |
