Complete Humour Bypass Update

A much needed injection of cuteness and fun after yesterday's melodrama!
These guys don't take themselves too seriously.
Note to self

Well 24 hours later the tears and the epic bout of self-indulgent moping have ceased as I finally chuckled and then fell into helpless giggles. For thirty minutes I sat on my little wooden stool in the travel writing section of Barnes and Noble and giggled away in fits. Just what I needed.

I love travel writing. It always, always reminds me that there are way worse scrapes I still have to find myself in, then extricate myself from with a scrap of dignity intact. But most of all it reminded me that nothing is really that bad if I just remember to keep my sense of humour.

Thank you Mr Bill Bryson and your dire Oslo escapade. I needed that lesson today.

Plus pummelling a punch bag for an hour this evening didn't harm either, until that was, someone punched me. I didn't wait to hear how he mistook me for the bag. My good humour has returned but only just. The cheek.......

Anyway onwards and upwards and I am so, so grateful to be able to say that with a big authentic smile on my face. As maddening as it is the pounds will come off again - even if it takes a while - but they will, especially if I manage to keep up with the run markers tomorrow - yup it's running club session number two and to celebrate - ok bribe myself - I bought myself a brand new pair of head phones. The difference in the sound quality is astonishing. Then again on my old headphones the wires were completely exposed and the ear pieces were hanging by a thread so it's probably not all that surprising.

Anyways off to bed in preparation for another 5.30am wake up call and another 10km attempt before the sun comes up! The things Texans have to do to negotiate the heat!

Big Smile :-)) xx
