MTV VMAs 2011: Beyonce Knowles Shows Off Baby Bump, Selena Gomez Lovely in Lace

2011 MTV Video Music Awards is underway inside Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Before the show was kicked off by Lady GaGa this Sunday (August 28) night, big names in music industry and Hollywood stars alike turned head as they rocked the black carpet, and Beyonce Knowles, in particular, made use of the event to deliver baby announcement.

The 29-year-old wife of Jay-Z looked radiant in a floor-length bright orange dress. Hitting the black carpet, she posed for the press line with both of her hands holding her stomach. Confirming the happy news wasMTV with a tweet, "OMG Beyonce just made a huge announcement on the #vma carpet! #baby!!!!!" Just Jared also noted that a representative for the singer has also given a thumb up on the news.

The black carpet also saw Selena Gomez looked gorgeous in lace. Among the first to arrive for her hosting gig at pre-VMAs show, the 19-year-old wore a black Julien Macdonald dress. She completed her look with a pair of Brian Atwood heels, a Judith Leiber clutch and Ofira jewelry. Although her boyfriend Justin Bieber also came to the show, the "Who Says" singer hit the black carpet solo.

Other stars looking ravishing in black were British singer Adele, Hollywood beauty Zoe Saldana, and Beyonce's former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland. Meanwhile, newlywed Kim Kardashian and former Disney starlet Demi Lovato brought some sparkles to the black carpet in their silver dress.

In the men department, Pete Wentz and Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta looked sleek in their suit. Also opting to go with a suit was teen sensation Justin Bieber. Unlike Pete and Gabe however, the "Baby" hitmaker gave a touch of casual to his look as he traded button-up shirt with a black T-shirt. 

Selena Gomez to Host MTV VMAs Pre-Show, Cobra Starship to Perform

Selena Gomez has been chosen to host 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The "Who Says" singer is going to interview celebrities and musicians walking down the black carpet rolled out in front of LosAngeles' Nokia Theatre on August 28.

"I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs! After all of my years watching the VMAs, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts. It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year," she gushed.

The young songstress will get help from some MTV personalities as well as fellow artist Cobra Starship. The Gabe Saporta-fronted band are going to perform Sabi-assisted dance track "You Make Me Feel".

"We are so excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs! I grew up watching them every year and it was an honor to be nominated two years ago and it is an even bigger honor to be able to play the pre-show this year," said guitarist Ryland Blackinton. "I will never forget when Pat Smear left the Foo Fighters live during the pre-show, and I'm planning on having him replace me this year."

2011 MTV VMAs will be opened by Lady GaGa. Joining her on the performer list are Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Adele, and Bruno Mars. The presenters, meanwhile, are Jonah Hill, Rick Ross, Selena Gomez, Seth Rogen, Kim Kardashian and Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All.

Two tributes have been prepared by MTV this year. One is going to salute Britney Spears and will likely get a dose of Michael Jackson, Madonna and Janet Jackson as the Southern Belle's music inspirations. The other is to remember MTV's "very near and dear" friend Amy Winehouse.

Days leading to the live telecast, MTV will reveal some behind-the-scene stories about last year's show in a special segment called "VMAs Revealed" which is airing this weekend. They will unveil stories behind Rihanna's red wig and Justin Bieber's outdoor performance among other things.

Teasing what to expect, MTV revealed that when Rihanna's wig arrived, it was orange, not red like she wanted it to be. Celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen said, "I'm telling you, bright orange, straight-up Nicki Minaj orange. And she's flipping out."

As for Bieber's outdoor performance, it was told that host Chelsea Handler was meant to stand at the front row holding a banner read, "Chelsea hearts Justin," but a throng of the Beliebers drowned her. "I think you can see her sign bobbing around, you just can't see her head," MTV News VP Ryan Kroft said. 

Selena Gomez Owns the Night at Florida Concert

Selena Gomez showed off her showgirl persona when performing at Count de Hoernle Amphitheater in Boca Raton, Florida. The "Monte Carlo" beauty wore a gold simmering corset and short ruffle skirt with long train. At one point of the night, she traded her skirt with a cute pink tutu. 

The "Ramona and Beezus" star strutted her stuff, belting out songs from new album "When the Sun Goes Down" and some other tracks from her previous works. She was supported by her band The Scene and some dancers in catering the sold-out crowd at the Mizner Park. 

Watching from the side stage was none other than Selena's boyfriend Justin Bieber. The "Never Say Never" singer made a surprise on-stage performance when coming to her live concert in Costa Mesa, California last Sunday, but he chose to keep low profile when visiting her in Florida. 

Dubbed "Own the Night", the tour will resume on July 30 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida, and will run September 12 at Northwest Concert Center in Puyallup, Washington. 

Justin Bieber Makes Surprise Appearance at Selena Gomez Concert

Justin Bieber seems to be really into crashing major events these days. He showed upuninvited to a Malibu wedding last week, and just last night he surprised Selena Gomez onstage at her concert! 

The Bieb came out in a neon yellow T-shirt as Selena's guitarist began a riff of his hit "Baby," and he gave his shocked gal a giant hug before she scooted offstage. Justin then proceeded to sing over the thousands of screaming women in the crowd.

His tune of choice? A unique mash-up up his hit "Favorite Girl" and Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River!" 

Mr. Bieber covered the hit flawlessly and shouted "Give it up for Selena Gomez!" before he made his exit.

Justin wrote about the surprise performance on his Twitter page and said it sounds like he misses performing live now that his world tour's been over for a couple of months. He wrote: "had a #greatnight and suprised the people. felt good to be on stage. nothing is changing that.#REAL"

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are Wedding Crashers!

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez just happened to be strolling along the beach in Malibu this weekend when they heard a familiar tune off in the distance. The song? Justin's "One Less Lonely Girl." And where was it coming from? A fancy wedding at the Adamson House. And what did they do? Crash the wedding!

Justin and Selena reportedly stayed for just a few minutes -- long enough to pose with guests and the bride and groom, Rob and Jeanine McCool, who now have the coolest wedding story ever.

The Bieb tweeted about the festivities: "WEDDING CRASHERS last night! hahaha. too funny. crazy story."

Selena Gomez Makes a Second Trip to the Hospital

Selena Gomez was rushed to the hospital after filming The Tonight Show Thursday night, and one trip just didn't do it -- TMz reports the starlet was taken back to an LA hospital Saturday for blood pressure issues.
The Disney star, who's dating teen sensation Justin Bieber, complained of nausea and a severe headache Thursday. The nausea component, of course, sparked a flurry of pregnancy rumors about the 18-year-old actress. And, they're totally not true. 
New reports indicate the starlet's been in and out of the hospital for blood pressure issues, but doctors have yet to figure out what's wrong.
Her rep released a statement after her overnight hospital stay Thursday, announcing that Selena was undergoing "routine tests."
An insider said no one knew anything was wrong during her talk show appearance that night. 

"She did a backstage interview and hung out with Jim Carrey after the show. The Tonight Show people didn't even know she wasn't feeling well," the source said (via Us magazine).Selena was supposed to kick off her 10-city tour at Santa Monica Place, but the concert was rescheduled for Monday. As of Sunday morning, the show had not been rescheduled again.

Selena Gomez: I'm 'Feeling Much Better' After Hospital Stay

You can all breathe a sigh of relief now: Selena Gomez is A-OK! The starlet has been hospitalized twice over the last few days, and today she took to her Twitter to tell fans she's "feeling much better." 

She's even well enough to perform tonight, after rescheduling the performance from Friday. "Feeling much better, thank you all for being so understanding. Can't wait to see you all today at Santa Monica..." she wrote.

Still no word on what was ailing the 18-year-old -- sources have claimed everything from food poisoning, fatigue, and blood pressure issues were to blame.
