Crooner: Matt Cardle debuts new video for second single Run For Your Life

The question is yet to be answered if Matt Cardle will follow in Leona Lewis' footsteps or Steve Brookstein's.

And perhaps the true test lies with the release of second single Run For Your Life.

The track was penned by Gary Barlow, so it's no surprise to discover it's a crooning ballard with uplifting lyrics about starting afresh and going on a journey to find a new love interest.

In the video, Cardle is dressed in a very ordinary pair of jeans and shirt - notably missing his iconic flat cap - that look as though they may be left over from his painter and decorator days.

As he powers out the song, telling a redhead to 'run for her life' from a doomed relationship, she is then seen darting through various backdrops.

The boho beauty is projected on an enormous screen pacing through a forest and later frolicking on a beach in a monokini.

But lonely Cardle cannot reach her as he is singing in real time and she is only a vision.

However, their fairytale ending comes true at the end and she steps out of the screen and into his arms.

The X Factor winner secured overnight success last December after his debut song rocketed to No1 follow his triumph on the reality show.

Having covered Biffy Clyro track Many Of Horror, which Cardle renamed When We Collide, he achieved the second best-selling single of 2010.

He was pipped to the post by Eminem's Love The Way You Lie, featuring Rihanna, by a mere 39,000 sales.

But now it seems the 26-year-old singer has transformed into an all American girl for her new video Collide.

The former X Factor winner teams her surf chic look with beachy waves in her long brown hair and fairly minimal make-up as she sits on the back of her car in Malibu.



Leona later changes into a chic and colourful zig-zag top and beige maxi skirt to belt out her famous high notes on the beach, with the waves crashing in.



Leona recently revealed that Collide, released on September 4th, is her most personal record yet.



She said: 'I’m excited for people to see a different side to my music. It’s reminiscent of a summer romance, meeting someone and feeling an instant chemistry.

He may have forged a successful acting career, but Justin Timberlake has not forgotten his roots.



Which may be why he has made a return to music.



the 30-year-old former NSync member has directed a music video for hip-hop band FreeSol.

After seeing a performance at a small jazz cafe in their hometown of Memphis Tennessee, Justin (also Memphis born and bred) quickly signed the group to his label Tennman Records.



He then landed them a major deal with Interscope Records.



And the star has been a driving force in trying to ensure success for FreeSol.

But he hasn't entirely stayed on the other side of the camera. Justin also can be seen in the video, dancing and goofing around with the group and singing along to the track.

The tweet contained a link for the video of the song Hoodies On, Hats Off.

The movie, which he stars in with Amanda Seyfried, is set in a world where time and not money is the currency.

She's had her fair share of haters since she first appeared on last year's X Factor - but Cher Lloyd got the last laugh when she went straight to Number One tonight with her debut solo single.

The 18-year-old's Swagger Jagger knocked She Makes Me Wanna by fellow former X Factor contestants JLS from the top of the charts and into second place.

Cher celebrated earlier with a set at London's legendary club G.A.Y. last night, where she had worn skintight dark indigo blue jeans and a sleeveless royal blue blue denim shirt which she'd tied at her waist.

She was also sporting her now trademark glossy half-shaved hairstyle with her flowing locks to one side, and had accessorised her bright pink microphone with pink make-up and nails.

After the set, club bosses treated her to a huge birthday cake with a giant Number One and her name and photo on it.

The star was then clearly blown away this evening when dozens of fans queued outside the Radio 1 studios in London where she was a guest as Reggie Yates announced she'd gone to Number One on tonight's Official Chart Show.

The star said this evening: 'Having a number One was the best thing I could have asked for, I am so happy! I'm the happiest girl alive! Thank you for supporting me, and buying the single! This is the best thing that's ever happened to me!'
