Elle est magnifique! Natalie Cassidy opts for shabby chic as she maintains slender physique

By Nadia Mendoza

Shabby chic: Natalie Cassidy looked a little scruffy, but stylish too as she left her Manchester hotel

Despite the recent trauma of splitting from her fiancé, Natalie Cassidy is obviously feeling 'magnifique'.

The former EastEnder emerged from her Manchester hotel wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the French word.

Looking trim in black leggings, it appeared the mother-of-one had been for an early workout in the gym as she sported scruffy hair and trainers.

She also opted for no make-up, rocking the 'just-got-off-a-treadmill' look.

But her new revamped red bob gave her a splash of colour against the backdrop of a dreary rainy day.

The 28-year-old has dropped a remarkable three stone since parting ways with Adam Cottrell in May - and looks keen to keep off the weight.

Rising stress levels left the newly-single Strictly Come Dancing contestant unable to sleep or eat and her weight plummeted to 9st 2lb.

But taking control again, she has stabilised herself at a healthy 9st 7lb.

Bleary-eyed: Natalie looked a little tired as she showcased her slender frame in black leggings

Natalie said at the time: ‘I have been a size six, I’ve been a size 16 – bordering on an 18.

'But I am a size 10 now, and I feel that I am the weight I should be.’

The pair were due to marry this year following the birth of ten-month-old daughter Eliza, but Cassidy called off the ceremony after a huge bust-up.

Cottrell later pleaded guilty to assault and criminal damage and now has a restraining order under his name.

It looks like the bad boy could sink further into trouble, with a potential jail sentence looming for possessing a class A drug and drink-driving.

The 31-year-old has been released on bail until September 20 until the case continues.

Meet the yoga teacher who loves having a good stretch... with her HORSE

By Mary Isokariari

The 'Bow': Linda Guanti enjoys a yoga session with Lewis, a 17-year-old Egyptian Arabian horse

A veteran horse is still competing in old age after beating stiffness in his joints - by doing YOGA.

Super-fit Lewis, a 17-year-old Egyptian Arabian, mastered a string of yoga moves after copying his owner Linda Guanti, 35.

Linda was mucking out when she began practising her own stretches to help her bad back - and was stunned to see Lewis mimicking her.

She spent several hours a day showing Lewis how to adopt the complex poses and he can now hold positions such as the 'bow' and the 'neck side stretch'.

Lewis has even mastered an awkward pose where he kneels forward to push his nose into the ground and stretch his back while Linda stands beside him and reaches to the sky.

Their joint yoga sessions have cured Linda's lifelong back pain and eased Lewis' stiff joints so much that he can carry on competing.

X-ray technologist Linda, from British Columbia, Canada, said: 'Lewis is a great horse. I've had him since he was five-and-a-half and he loves to try anything that's fun.

'I was amazed when he began to do yoga. He really adores the stretches and it's great that we can both combine our hobby and spend time together.

'Neck Side Stretch' position: Lewis has beaten stiffness in his joints becoming a real poser after learning how to do yoga stretches

'Doing yoga with your horse is a wonderful way to make a connection with them.'

'Lewis has learned how to remain calm in vulnerable positions that would frighten most horses.'

'Plus, he's a fairly athletic horse who jumps and does dressage so there stretches help to keep him fit.' Linda turned to yoga after she fractured three vertebrae in her back falling from a horse when she was 14.

The injury was never fixed and gave her chronic health problems throughout her adult life that meant she was unable to ride properly.

Back improvement: Practising her own stretches with Lewis has helped Linda's back

Several years ago she then suffered three prolapsed discs.

But when Linda discovered yoga in 2007 she noticed a dramatic improvement in her health.

She began doing her stretches while she groomed Lewis in a bid to save time and be around her pet more often.

But to her amazement Lewis soon joined in. In one manoeuvre, Lewis kneels forward and pushes his head into the ground in a stretch that would cause most horses to spook.

The pose, named the 'Bow', stretches Lewis' shoulder forward while his other front leg is tucked behind to stretch the shoulder. The neck, back, and hind legs are also stretched.

Another pose involves Linda standing at the horse's rear and arching her back in a 'Neck Side Stretch' pose. The horse cranes his neck round to the side which helps with flexibility, range of motion and suppleness throughout the neck and also the back.

The yoga expert: Lewis has mastered a string of yoga moves after copying his owner Linda Guanti, 35

Lewis would normally have become stiff as he grew older but the stretches have kept his joints supple and he's able to continue competing in dressage, show jumping and cross county competitions.

Linda said that doing yoga with Lewis has helped to heal her bad back - and even helped with his stamina.

She has become a part-time yoga instructor and now runs classes that people can bring their horses too.

She added: 'There is nothing I can do about my weakened discs and damaged bones but the benefits of doing yoga with Lewis were unmistakable.'

'Yoga with him has helped with the initial healing process and was keeping my body in the healthiest state is could be. All the past limitations and pain from my injury were lessening.'

'I was overjoyed. My riding skills improved, my body awareness and balance improved. My outlook on life improved.'

'Yoga is also just as beneficial for horses as for humans. Horses have the same issues as we do. Stretching and body awareness reduces injury and enhances performance and pleasure in activity.'

'I've never felt sexier!' Boot camp pays off for TOWIE's Gemma Collins as she shows off her new and slimmer figure

By GEORGINA LITTLEJOHN

Feeling good: Gemma said as her weight has dropped, her confidence has grown

Back in May she bemoaned her 17-stone frame and said she was eager to lose six stone and get into a size 12 again.

And it would appear that the hard work, strict diet and tough boot-camp days are paying off handsomely for Gemma Collins.

The Only Way Is Essex star looked fantastic as she posed for a couple of bikini shots which showed off her new slimmer frame.

Out with the old, in with the new: TOWIE's Gemma Collins shows off her new and slimmer figure after shedding three dress sizes

The saleswoman has dropped three dress sizes to a size 14, having shed 3st 9lb in almost four months and said she has never felt sexier.

Speaking to new! magazine, Gemma, 30, said she is now oozing with confidence.

She said: 'I can’t wait to get down to Ann Summers! I've never felt sexier. As much as I said I was confident before, I really feel sexy now, not fake sexy. It was false confidence before.'

Working up a sweat: Gemma gives it her all at boot camp

But she admitted that the tough exercise regime and the strict dieting hadn't been easy - especially attending Boot Camp.

She said: 'I was packing my bag after three days. It was so different to what I was used to and it was such a shocker being in such a disciplined regime.

'I sent my friend down to the trainer to tell him I was leaving because I didn’t have the guts to say it myself.'

But she stayed and her perseverance has proved to be paying off even if her fast food cravings almost got the better of her.

In the last series of TOWIE, Gemma was seen setting her sights on nightclub owner, Mick Norcross, father of Kirk, but was left disappointed.

However, she now says she is happy to be single to focus on her fitness and diet regime but would also like to find a nice man - and one that's younger than her.

On track: Gemma looked sleek in demin and lace at last night's Jeans For Genes party

The full interview with Gemma is in this week's new! magazine out today

'Air napping' in suspended cocoons is latest craze in bid to relax and unwind

By DAISY DUMAS

Time to nod off: The air nap gives tired workers a chance to take a short break from the grind

A gym in Charlotte, NC, is offering frazzled clients a class in the ultimate relaxation technique: sleeping.

Air napping, the latest craze at the Flex-and-Fit gym, sees customers climbing into silken hammocks and hanging in sweet repose for 25 minutes.

In what may be the least arduous gym class ever, the nappers are simply required to make themselves comfortable and fall asleep to the strains of calming music.

Sleep lessons: Shama Patel helps a client wriggle into the silken cocoon before a restorative nap

'Relax, close your eyes and listen to the meditative music,' instructs gym owner, Shama Patel.

Nearly half an hour later, she gently wakes her nappers up, interrupting their rest in the womb-like cocoons.

Fomer attorney Ms Patel says that she came up with the idea as a way to fill the room between work-out and yoga classes.

In her former line of corporate work, she had come across specially-designed napping rooms before and saw the potential in the unused space.

Cocoons: A sleeper lies, suspended in relaxation. The hammocks are made of silk and sleeps only last for 25 minutes

Patel told WCMC.com: 'When I first entered corporate America, they did have a nap room.'

'It encourages us to take a nap and recharge and then get to work.'

The unmoving forms of bodies suspended in the gently swaying cocoons may look eerie, but the response has been positive.

One napper told the news station 'I feel rejuvenated, ready to start the day.'

While another, Evan Panesis, said: 'This was one of the best naps I've ever taken, I might have to get one for my home now.'

Got your groove back? Vanessa Hudgens returns to fashion form with chilled out new look

By HOLLY THOMAS

California Cool: Vanessa Hudgens appeared to have regained some of her old confidence as she left Mareka Organic Food in Studio City yesterday

Vanessa Hudgens has been quite the chameleon lately.

Switching from grungy gym bunny to sultry seductress at the VMAs and back again, there are clearly many sides to the Sucker Punch star.

And her latest look, channeling baggy chic in Studio City seems to indicate that the actress is feeling like some chill-out time.

Baggy chic: Vanessa's trousers were similar to those often favoured by Gwen Stephani

Wearing a long dark skirt and a fringed orange vest, Vanessa was obviously in the mood for something less constricting than the leggings which have been her item of choice recently.

She didn't even appear to be wearing a bra, but she managed to get away with the always-risky decision, even sporting a cool leather beaded necklace.

Vanessa wasn't wearing much makeup on under her huge sunnies, but the natural look suited the fresh faced star.

Getting healthy: Vanessa was grabbing something nutritious from Mareka Organic Food

She also accessoised with some chunky gold rings, and purple nail varnish to add a further splash of colour.

The 22 year old had popped into Mareka Organic Food with some friends to pick up a few nutritious bites.

The healthy choice was most likely part of her new slimming regime, which she has embarked on to lose the extra pounds she gained for her role in upcoming independent movie, Gimme Shelter.

Boho babe: Vanessa's laid back look was a far cry from her slick appearance at the VMAs last weekend

Getting back in shape: Vanessa's been taking yoga classes to return to her usual svelte figure

Vanessa has been combining a healthy diet with regular exercise to regain her usually svelte frame.

She has been spotted carting her yoga mat to class, and also went for a hike with her teenage sister Stella yesterday.

The actress appears to have regained some of her confidence after struggling with the short hair cut she had for Gimme Shelter.

Switching up her look: Vanessa's been quite the chameleon lately, from sultry star at the VMAs last weekend to grungy gym bunny

The $20 a month subscription website will be closed down and replaced by a weight loss blog, a decision she said had not been 'easy'.

Big eater: Ms Simpson has been eating 15,000 calories a day, which is more than is recommended for a woman to eat in a whole week

'This life changing move made me realize something important.

'The health and welfare of my family was always my priority and they were well taken care of by my ex.

'I lost three stone to be as thin as Cheryl Cole': Shocking images of teenager battling eating disorder after becoming obsessed with former X-Factor j

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Still painfully thin: At her sickest, Charlotte O' Neill, who is 5ft7in, weighed only 5 1/2 stone. She is still struggling to reach a healthy weight but is convinced she is beating her obsession

A teenage girl developed an eating disorder, losing three stone in weight after becoming obsessed with former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole.

Charlotte O'Neill decided at 15 she wanted to be as slim as Cheryl when the singer joined the show's judging panel in 2008.

She skipped breakfast, cut down on her normal food portions and gave up chocolate and sweets. Within two weeks, she had lost half a stone.

Danger zone: Doctors warned Charlotte she was putting her heart and other organs at risk and put her on a strict meal plan

'I often felt hungry and weak, but it felt like an achievement because I knew it was taking me closer to "Goal Cole",' she said.

Charlotte, who is 5ft 7in and originally weighed 8st 7lb, soon reached her target weight of 7st.

But not satisfied she continued to starve herself.

'My arms and legs didn't look dainty like Cheryl's,' she said.

Cheryl, although slim, always looked healthy as a judge on the X Factor

Her weight continued to fall until it reached 6st at which point her PE teacher took action.

Charlotte was diagnosed with chronic anorexia and admitted to hospital.

Doctors warned she was putting her heart and other organs at risk and put her on a strict meal plan.

Charlotte, from Peterborough, Cambs, then spent nine months in an eating disorders care centre, where she put on weight to reach a healthier 7st 12lb.

The full interview is in Love It! magazine

Just a few days before the end of the two-week trip, Charlotte claims she had a 'light-bulb moment' when her mother took her to a cafe for breakfast.

She told Love It! magazine: 'A strange feeling came over me.'

She ate scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast.

Since then, she began to regain her weight and believes she is over her obsession.

She said: 'I don't blame Cheryl for making me ill.

'I know she is not anorexic and would be appalled I used her as my inspiration to starve.'

Charlotte, who is now 18 and is still struggling to bring her weight back to normal, said she is glad Cheryl is not a judge on the talent show this year.

'I don't want anything tempting me back to that hell,' she said.

Lauren Goodger steps out in some ill-advised black leggings as she continues weight loss mission

By SARAH BULL

Ill-advised: Lauren Goodger last night wore a pair of tight black leggings which did little to flatter her figure

She has been desperately trying to get into shape ahead of the third season of The Only Way Is Essex.

But if Lauren Goodger wants to show off her new figure, she might want to choose some more flattering outfits.

The 24-year-old star was seen out in London last night wearing a pair of ill-advised tight black leggings, which did very little to highlight her recent weight loss.

Weight loss mission: Lauren has already lost around half a stone and is hoping to lose more before the third series of The Only Way Is Essex

Lauren is thought to have lost around half a stone after hitting bootcamp earlier this month in a bid to shift a few excess pounds before her return to the hit ITV2 reality show.

She teamed the tight leggings with a vest top featuring a rose diamante motif and some black heels.

Lauren hasn't made a secret of her struggles with her weight, keeping fans updated on Twitter about her bootcamp exploits.

What a natural: Lauren posed and pouted for photographers as she left Aura nightclub in London last night

She wrote last week: 'Getting ready for bootcamp 3 hours intense training yes I am scared!!'

Lauren added a few days later: 'Feel like I've been beat up love this feeling bootcamp 4days intense hardest thing ever but makes u feel so good!No more bad pics of me haha!'

Lauren, who is engaged to her TOWIE co-star Mark Wright, recently admitted she was fed up with constant criticism about her weight.

In training: Lauren has been attending bootcamp in a bid to shift a few excess pounds

'I’m still a size ten and if you look from series one I’ve not changed much.

'I’m bored of talking about it all the time - at the end of the day people might go on about my weight, but I’m the one engaged to Mark and happy.'

Lauren wasn't the only star to make an appearance at London's Aura nightclub last night.

The holiday snaps that changed our lives! Dreading those summer bikini shots? Then these women will inspire you...

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Never going back: Anna has worked hard to drop from 17 to 10st, left, and doesn't want to be overweight again

There's nothing more depressing than flicking through your holiday photos, only to find your happy memories marred by how overweight you look in them. Here, three women inspired to shape up after seeing themselves in their holiday snaps share their stories...

Anna Shephard, 29, is a primary school teacher from Dulwich, South London. She is married to Junior, 28, a mature student. Previously a size 22, now a size 8-10, she says:

As a child, I was big. I ate a lot, and my bad eating habits continued into adulthood. Typically, I’d have two burger and fries meals from Burger King for lunch — and maybe a family-sized bag of Maltesers after dinner.

Ashamed of her size: Sonia was 15st, right, but is much happier now she's 11st and can fit into dress size 12

Sonia Coles, 41, is a teaching assistant from Banbury, Oxfordshire. She is married to Stephen, 50, a caretaker, with two children, Louis, 16, and Samuel, 12. Previously a size 20, now a size 12, she says:

Before I went on holiday to Spain in 2008, I was so ashamed of my size that I didn’t even try on my new one-piece swimsuit. I was a size 18 and couldn’t bear to look in the mirror; I didn’t want to confront the reality of how I looked. We had booked into a lovely apartment complex in Salou, which was full of lots of other British families. By the pool, I was so conscious of my wobbly flesh that I hid inside a towel. Most of the women were slim — and their gorgeous figures were a painful symbol of what I could never be.

Wake-up call: Angela, now 9st, left, knew she had to rid herself of the belly she had had since her youth, when she was 12st

Angela Sweeter, 60, is a hairdresser from Bracknell, Berkshire. She is separated and has two grown-up sons, aged 23 and 21. Previously a size 14-16, now a size 10, she says:

Last year I was going through some old photos when I found one of myself taken in Monte Carlo in 2003. The photo shows me standing on the balcony of my hotel, with my tummy so swollen, I looked pregnant. There’s no smile on my face, no sense I was enjoying myself. What struck me was that nothing about my appearance had changed in the seven years since that photo had been taken. I was still the same size — 12st and a size 14-16.

Toddler born with 'clown-nose' birthmark spends two hours in surgery to get a 'face like Mummy's'

By JOANNA CORRIGAN

Connie at three months after the birthmark had grown to cover her nose

For three years, she had to put up with cruel taunts because of a condition that left her with a bright red 'clown nose' just weeks after she was born.

Her mother had to resort to hiding Connie Lloyd's face when they went to the doctors because people made such 'horrible' comments.

But now Connie has a new lease of life after surgery to remove the blemish, which actually marked the existence of a tumour.

Following her three-and-a-half hour operation, a delighted Connie proclaimed that she now had a 'nose like her mum's'.

The little girl had a haemangioma - a benign tumour

Her mother, from Slough, Berkshire, said: 'When we saw her nose we were amazed. She looked like a different child but we knew it was our Connie.'

Doctors had spotted a shadow on Connie's nose at the 26-week scan but when she was born in September 2008, she appeared perfectly healthy.

Two weeks later, her parents Zara and Tom spotted their daughter's nose was turning bright red. What started as a tiny dot quickly grew to 4cm wide.

Their GP referred them to a skin specialist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, who diagnosed the baby with haemangioma - a benign tumour.

Happy: Connie following the successful operation to remove the mark

Connie became only the eighth baby in the UK to try the drug Propranolol - used for heart conditions - to stop the growth becoming larger.

But her parents were told there was no cure and also warned she could even bleed to death if her nose was scratched or bruised.

Her mother searched for anyone who could help and eventually located surgeon Dr Iain Hutchison who specialises in treating facial disfigurements.

He operated on Connie in March, working to remove the tumour and leaving her with just a small scar.

Connie in the womb at 32 weeks, with the mark visible on her nose

'We were constantly worried. The doctors said if she cut or grazed it, she could bleed to death. There were treatments to stop it getting bigger but nothing to get rid of it.'

'It was the longest two hours of my life when Connie was in the theatre. When she came out of the operation she said her nose was like her mum's.

'Now she is doing really well, she has a big group of friends and we are so proud of her.'

She added: 'It's nice not to have to deal with the cruel comments any more but, red nose or not, Connie has always been our perfect little girl.'

Octomom Nadya Suleman reveals the gruesome body scars from her pregnancy

War wounds: Octomom Nadya Suleman revealed her midriff at a celebrity boxing match in Miami over the weekend

She managed to lose her baby weight in mere months following the birth of her octuplets.

But Nadya Suleman, who delivered her eight babies via C-section, still bears a reminder of her high risk pregnancy.

The 36-year-old mother of 14 revealed stretched and scarred skin on her lower stomach and sides at a boxing match over the weekend.

Body after babies: The mother has previously denied undergoing a tummy tuck

The reality TV phenomenon, who has 14 children all under the age of ten, allowed the pictures to be taken of her midriff before entering the ring.

She has previously denied reports she underwent a tummy tuck surgery following the birth of the octuplets, insisting she lost the weight - and extra skin - naturally.

'No way,' she responded when asked if she had had surgery by America's Star magazine in January.

What a bump: Nadya and her bump pre birth

'I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it on my own, naturally. My friends call my Rubber Band because I always snapped back so quickly after my other kids!'

She also criticised reality TV star Kate Gosselin, who had twins and sextuplets, for going under the knife.

'I feel like it's cheating,' she said. 'It's her choice. If she has enough money to fix herself, let her. I have a better shape, though. I'm sorry, no offense to her.'

New gig: The mother of 14 last week took part in a celebrity boxing match

Suleman became internationally famous when she gave birth to her eight babies – two daughters and six sons – in January 2009 after conceiving them through in vitro fertilisation.

Noah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Josiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Maliyah and Makai are only the second full set of octuplets to be born alive in the U.S. – and not all of the previous set survived longer than the first week.
