He's a granddad at 29, she's a granny at 30 (and the child's mother is only 14): The baby with Britain's youngest grandparents
By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Happy family: Jordan, bottom left, with Tia and Gracie, and proud grandparents Shem and Kelly
An unemployed man, 29, has become one of Britain's youngest grandparents after his daughter gave birth at 14.
Shem Davies and his former girlfriend Kelly John, 30, were overjoyed when their daughter Tia, who was born when her parents were 15, gave birth to little Gracie earlier this month. Tia's boyfriend, Jordan Williams, is 15.
Shem said: 'It is an absolute joy to see Gracie thriving. I'm incredibly proud of Tia. She'll be a brilliant mum. At first I wasn't overly pleased that she was pregnant but I soon got over than. Now it's all about being positive.
Fighter: Tiny Gracie is thriving but will be in an incubator for a few weeks
'I've got to know Jordan and he's shaping up to be a decent young man,' Shem told The People.
However, nurses at the maternity unit were left embarrassed after they thought the young grandfather was in fact the teenage father of Gracie.
Apparently when he entered the ward they thought the 29-year-old looked so fresh-faced they asked him to prove he was over the age of 16.
But the arrival of Gracie wasn't easy as Tia was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, seven weeks before her due date.
Proud parents: Jordan and Tia with their newborn daughter Gracie who was born prematurely
Father and daughter: Shem with his daughter Tia and granddaughter Gracie
The latest figures show in 2009 38,259 girls under 18 became pregnant, but nearly 50 per cent had a termination.
The UK still leads the way when it comes to young mothers, and our rate is five-times higher than in the Netherlands and twice that of France and Spain.

Don't Love Acting As Much As I Used To says Angelina Jolie
She is one of the highest paid "Hollywood actresses Angelina Jolie" in the world, but the Oscar winner's main passions are actually outside of the field. In an interview with the Financial Times published Friday, Jolie, 36, opens up about becoming a mom of six has changed her relationship with work.
When I was younger I needed more. I was trying to question things in life so you find these characters that help you find things and grow."Now, she adds, "I'm older and I know who I am and I'm less interested in the character helping me answer something than in being able to answer it for myself.
She has no plans to retire in the near future, she admits: "I don't love as much as I did. I love being a mom."She and her longtime love Brad Pitt have six children together -- Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and 3-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne -- and the family is famous for their nomadic lifestyle. "Home is wherever we are," she says. But does she ever feel rootless? "Yes, but happily. I'm very bad at staying in one place. I'm also bad at sitting still There's so much to explore in the world So I love travel.
I prefer [being behind the camera] to acting," she admits. "I think I've learnt something from all of [the directors I've worked with] -- even the ones I didn't like I also learned a lot from Clint Eastwood about how to appreciate the members of the crew, empowering them to do their job."But Jolie doesn't plan to stay in the business forever. "As Brad and I get older we're going to do fewer films. I've been working for a long time, he's been working for a long time," she says.

Naomi Watts hot and sexy photo gallery
Naomi Watts was born on 28th September 1968 in Shoreham, England, the young Watts suffered the trauma of losing her father when she was only seven years old. Four years later, she relocated to Australia with her mom and began to study acting. Eventually, she began going on auditions - it was at one where she would meet her best friend Nicole Kidman - and landed her first film role in "For Love Alone" (1986).
Cast as a snobby schoolgirl, the teen actress made an impression and her career was born. Watts went on to co-star with Oscar winner Brenda Fricker, Josephine Byrnes, Kym Wilson and a young Russell Crowe in the Australian miniseries "Brides of Christ" (1991). Duigan tapped her once again when he cast her in a supporting role in "Wide Sargasso Sea" (1992).
Then came along a strange, brilliant man named David Lynch. Watts was next cast in what was hoped would be her breakthrough, an ABC TV series called "Mulholland Drive," created by and directed by Lynch. Although the network passed on the quirky drama, Lynch was able to shoot additional material and create a strange, trippy picture that painted a dark picture of the dream factory of Hollywood.
Also that year, she delivered a strong performance in "Mother and Child" (2010), playing a woman whose mother (Annette Bening) gave her up for adoption as a baby, leading her to lead a successful, but lonely life that nonetheless remains inexorably entwined with that of her mother's. Watts' heartbreaking performance earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards.

I want to ride my bicycle: Girl born with half an arm has special bike designed by schoolchildren
By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Happy days: Brave Sophie Smith is now able to ride her bike more comfortably after local children built a special handlebar extension for her to use
A brave little girl born with only one fully formed arm is able to ride her bike after children built a special extension for her handlebar as part of a school project.
Fun-loving Sophie Smith, two, struggled to balance on her pink and white cycle because she was born with half a right arm.
But after hearing of Sophie's troubles school pupils designed an extension that allows her to rest the end of her arm on the handlebar, giving her much better control.
Help: Year 10 engineering pupils at Testwood Sports College created the special extension as part of a class project
Now the toddler is able to effortlessly dash about on the two-wheel bike.
The school's head of technology set the project to the Year 10 engineering pupils, aged 14 and 15, after talking to Sophie's grandmother, Pat, who works at the school.
Pat said Sophie had struggled during a sponsored ride because of her arm.
Overjoyed: A clearly delighted Sophie shows off how she is able to ride her bike more easily now
'She's a very active child and doesn't want her condition to hold her back. Sophie loves the bike and she's using it at home now.' Head of technology Geoff Powell said: 'My colleague was chatting to Pat about what we would do with our engineers and she mentioned that Sophie only has half an arm and was having difficulty on her two-wheeler.

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Kapow: Christian Bale and Tom Hardy fight it out while filming scenes for upcoming movie The Dark Knight Rises in Pittsburgh today
Fight scenes on the set of new Batman movie The Dark Night Rises were never going to be a walk in the park.
But when Christian Bale and Tom Hardy got into character today to film scenes for the action flick it literally left one of the stars with ripped clothes and bumps and bruises.
Bale, who plays Batman, was on the front steps of Gotham City Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with Hardy, who plays villain Bane.
Flashing the flesh: Hardy - why plays villain Bane - ended up with a 'wardrobe malfunction' of ripped trousers after the fight sequence
Winter battle: Bale got into character on the set that was flooded with fake snow and got his fists ready for action
The two actors fought it out and onlookers saw elbows flying and plenty of action to whet the appetite of fans of the comic book series.
At one point in the fight scene Hardy's pants had a wardrobe malfunction as his whole thigh was showing out of his villain outfit.
The scene had hundreds of extras dressed as police men and bad guys fighting and there was also a snow machine on hand blowing onto the scene as they fought.
Pow: Batman and his arch nemesis duke it out face to face in the much anticipated film based on the famed comic book series
Causing a commotion: The scene had hundreds of extras dressed as police men and bad guys fighting in front of the building
Christian choreography: Bale practised his moves earlier on in the day wearing his normal attire
That particular action sequence will be for the storyline that depicts a breakout of convicts from Blackgate Prison.
The building they used for the fake prison was the Software Engineering Building.
Earlier in the day, Bale arrived on the set wearing a grey T-shirt and black shorts and practised his fighting choreography on the stairs.
Put em up: The outspoken Terminator star looked ready for action surrounded by the out of costume extras and crew members
Battle vehicle: Hardy is seen standing on top of a car that they were calling a tumbler that was in camouflage colours
Gas guzzler: The large vehicle looked menacing on the streets of Pennsylvania
Big production: Onlookers were eager to get a glimpse of the movie set which shut off street in the Oakland area of city
