I'm a SUPERchick, Get Me Out Of Here!!

This morning’s kick off to Boot Camp (or “RE-BOOT Camp” as I’m fondly referring to it – this is my second round of torture after all!) was a bit of a Bush Tucker Trial – complete with NASTY BITING BUGS, BILLOWING DUST CLOUDS, SCRATCHY POLLEN, CLOSE HUMIDITY, TROPICAL RAIN SHOWER and BROKEN GLASS (ok. ok. just testing your powers of observation with the glass – it’s true this is really more native to London Parks than Exotic Jungles). But even under these harsh conditions my fellow BootCampers held their nerve and I have to admit, even pre-boot camp, they are one FIT looking bunch. Somehow, even after 4 months of hard work, I’m STILL chugging along at the back of the class. {Pausing to count to 10 before I continue..}

8…9…10…You might think I should be putting my feet up and give myself time to recharge after Saturday’s race. (Have I mentioned I RAN 10 km!!!!! - I might eventually shut up about this unbelievable feat of heroics but not until EITHER the heat stroke/nausea wears off OR my Boutique Sport Bracelet falls off!) But as much as I would LOVE to just RELAX, life’s lottery has blessed me with a chronic lung condition that unfortunately does not allow for time off.

Even just a couple of days with my feet up and I would be right back to the very wheezy, earth-spinning-on-it’s-axis SLOW Tortoise I started out as in May and I REFUSE to jeopardize the last FOUR months of blood, sweat and tears. So instead, I will be spending the next two week RE-BOOTING myself – exercise wise that is - for the next THREE months of blood, sweat and tears – otherwise known as Commando Challenge!

Reviewing my (lack of) progress on my Personal Bests it does rather seem like I’m overdue for a kick up the backside to get me uping my game. (Although it is rather pleasing to now actually have some personal bests in most of the categories – particularly loving mine and the Hare’s HILARIOUS marathon time not to mention that AWESOME 10km!)

So it seems that the next two weeks is gonna be a battle for SURVIVAL – even if it means learning to gnaw on bugs – extra protein, YUM! OR more likely, resigning myself to being a rather popular breakfast bar for the little critters.

As I am easily mistaken for a rather flushed peach, I really only have myself to blame! x

p.s. Woohoo. Just had confirmation from the Pocket Rocket that she’s in, so just one slot left to fill on my Fabulous Commando Challenge Team – any takers JO!!??
